Tandem delivers Learning and Development initiatives creatively. We believe that work can, and should, be enjoyable.

Who we are
Born out of a belief that Learning and Development could be so much more exciting and fulfilling than it was, Tandem was created in 2012 whilst sitting on a deserted beach in Java, Indonesia. Our aim was to deliver a sense of adventure and enthusiasm to Learning and Development so that our clients were more invested, more committed and saw more impactful results.
With imagination and enthusiasm, we bring the focus and energy that internal teams don’t always have the capacity for. Our exceptional hands-on practical experience means you’ll be working with people who genuinely understand your challenges. We’re experienced at quickly building a rapport and we deliver our products and facilitation with the utmost care and attention, offering a partnership you will be proud to present to your business. We love what we do and you’ll feel inspired and energised by our approach; going deeper into your personal development journey and having a few laughs along the way.
Our Team
I’ve spent my professional working life interacting with and trying to understand what I believe to be the most fascinating part of all businesses – its people. This is why I set up Tandem. To support the growth of individuals and teams within organisations.
Before setting up Tandem, I enjoyed a successful career in Human Resources and Talent Development working with some of the world’s most recognised and high performing brands including Topshop, Topman, ASOS and The Nuance Group.
I have been exposed to all aspects of the employee-employer relationship and have witnessed the incredible results which motivated, engaged and enabled people can create. I am a first-rate facilitator and a qualified Executive Coach (Academy of Executing Coaching 2010) and am accredited to practice psychometric profiling tools including (MBTI) Steps 1 & 2, Insights, Strength Deployment Inventory (SDI) and StrengthScope. I am also CIPD qualified.

Philosophy & Approach
As a dedicated and experienced coach, I am passionate about helping individuals and teams unlock their unique strengths, overcome challenges, and cultivate a growth mindset. By providing a reflective, safe, and focused space to do some quality thinking; they consciously design their own goals and enrich their careers through growth and change.
My style is intuitive, empathetic, and thought provoking. I enable a deeper level of awareness and insight by genuinely listening and encourage personal growth by being curious and asking questions. Through a journey of self-discovery and exploring the system within which they operate, I empower individuals and teams to realise their goals and take responsibility for their own success.
Experience
Collaboration is at the heart of what I do; I’ve had the privilege to work alongside leaders and teams, gaining valuable insight into what motivates and drives people, and the daily rewards and challenges that leadership brings.
With over 15 years HR and Learning & Development experience; together with 9 years as an Executive Coach, Team Coach and Facilitator, my diverse background has enabled me to work effectively with a wide range of clients and organisations.
I’ve been responsible for leading HR and L&D teams and coached Senior Executives and their teams, bringing a blend of knowledge in emotional intelligence, psychometrics, leadership principles and practices, and team dynamics.

For Kate, coaching is a development opportunity to learn about yourself and how you relate to others and through greater self-awareness choose fresh, more effective ways of living and working.
Her clients come from a variety of backgrounds and levels of seniority; from large organisations in industries such as the Media to smaller businesses, entrepreneurs and individuals. Outcomes include securing career progression, developing a personally authentic leadership style, identifying purpose and new direction, building effective relationships and teams, transitioning into new roles, and overall increasing resilience and motivation to identify new options for action.
Her strength as a coach lies in her warmth and calmness of approach, and her ability to listen with an attention that let clients explore their stories at a pace that suits them. She uses several psychological and philosophical approaches, inviting her client to focus on observation not analysis; on emotion and reflection, seeking different perspectives to find new ways forward. Kate places her client at the heart of her practice, and aims to co-create coaching sessions for raising client awareness, helping her client identify choices, supporting experimentation, and establishing clear decisions to help her client move forward with commitment.
Kate’s career has been within the broadcast industry for over 20 years, and digital media in particular. She is the founder of Kate Bradshaw Associates, a coaching and digital strategy consultancy. She was most recently VP of International Digital Strategy for SNI, formerly Deputy MD at ITV.com, and a senior editor at the BBC, starting her career in sales of Apple equipment. Kate has been professionally involved in coaching since 2011, becoming an EMCC accredited coach in 2012. She has served on the board of Women in Cable and Telecommunications, a US and UK network developing the careers of women in media.
Kate has completed the i-coach Academy Certificate in Coaching Practice that holds the European Mentoring and Coaching Quality Award at Senior Practitioner level. Kate is a member of the EMCC and subscribes to their code of ethics, as well as receiving regular supervision for her practice.
‘Kate coached me through an exceptionally challenging period in my life and career, but in working with Kate I was able to get fully focused and achieved a significant promotion and became chair of an industry body council. Her EQ to me was the stand out feature – the push and the challenges back to me were always well timed and I was the right kind of uncomfortable at the right times and always had a lot to take away from the times we spent together. I have absolutely no hesitation in recommending Kate as a coach.’
Senior Exec, News and Media.
‘She exceeded my expectations – asking tough questions without making me feel defensive – and she helped me to gain a greater understanding of my role, my goals and my colleagues. She became the voice of reason in my hectic and fast paced working life and even 18 months after our sessions, some of the points she raised still resonate and have proved to be prophetic…I’ve now landed the COO role I always wanted.’
Chief Financial Officer, cosmetics company.
‘Kate is incredibly skilled at getting me to think differently and I’m discovering more about myself, my approach to work and life…I walk away from each session with a clearer head, better plans, and a practical approach to daily issues, in and out of the workplace’.
Founder, digital start-up.
‘Her clear and calm approach has helped me to see the wood from the trees in my incredibly busy life, which had been missing. Her manner and questioning forced me to think clearly and reach a place where I’d identified for myself what I valued and the characteristics I wanted to lead from.’
CMO, international sports body.
I am fascinated by the impact truly engaged employees can have on a business’s success. Reward is one of the most powerful levers in achieving this yet one that so many organisations still find challenging to utilise to their full advantage. For the last 14 years reward has been my passion, however, I am not just a ‘reward’ person I have a broad generalist background with over 20 years Human Resources experience in total having held senior reward positions in some of the world’s largest and best-known brands including MARKS and SPENCER and most recently headed up the Reward and Employee Relations function for the ARCADIA GROUP and its portfolio of 8 brands.
I have significant experience in all areas of Reward management so I am fully equipped to help identify, design and implement practical, commercial reward solutions tailored to your business. I am MCIPD and also hold the CIPDs Advanced Certificate in Reward Management (Masters level qualification).

I did the Leadership Training Programme with Tandem and I can’t recommend it highly enough. Run across 6 days this allowed for a real immersion into the subject matter with each day focussing on a theme that was brought alive with great contextual videos, exercises and detailed information. Being in a small group with co-workers fostered a sense of trust and allowed us to get to know each other in a supportive environment away from the office. More than anything the course was fascinating, covering not only how to be a good leader, but delving into psychology, music, history, philosophy and sociology. Finally, Clive was a tremendous asset to delivering the course, with the right balance of authority, empathy and humour.

The Leadership course was brilliant. Not only was it informative in terms of learning valuable, important new skills, but Tandem was also very supportive on real issues, so I could take techniques into the office. And I often find myself saying, “What would Tandem do?”! Having the opportunity to spend time with other colleagues away from the office was also invaluable, as we have become our own support network. Thank you so much!’
